Mission
As Material Coordinator Base Maintenance within our Maintenance & Engineering department, you will ensure efficient material management for outsourced base maintenance, focusing on timely delivery and optimal parts availability. Reporting to the Strategic Purchaser Base Maintenance & LDG, your key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing material logistics to ensure smooth base maintenance operations and ground times
- Managing the delivery, return, and tracking of essential aircraft maintenance materials
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Tech Reps, Procurement, Planning, Engineering) to identify needs and resolve logistical challenges
This role requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills to support seamless maintenance operations.
Tasks
Material Supply & Procurement
- Define and manage material supply responsibilities for planned maintenance
- Ensure timely availability and on-site delivery of materials for base maintenance (heavy checks, paint, and cabin modifications)
- Procure scheduled and unscheduled aircraft materials based on work packages and operational needs
- Oversee the return, documentation, and tracking of unused or excess materials
Data Management & Coordination
- Maintain accurate material records in AMOS, ensuring correct consumption tracking
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, planning, and engineering to resolve material-related issues and optimize part ordering
- Manage shipments, returns, and turnaround times for components
MRO Support & Inventory Management
- Verify and approve MRO material requests, ensuring compliance and accurate invoicing
- Oversee on-site inventory, conduct audits, and track stock levels
- Prepare and present KPI reports on material usage and supplier performance
- Support MRO training in AMOS and ensure compliance with handling procedures
- Align with the Inventory Manager to maintain material availability and reporting accuracy
Operational Setup & Support
- Establish and close dedicated maintenance lines at MRO locations
- Provide on-site support at MRO facilities as needed
- Perform additional tasks to meet operational requirements
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in material coordination or inventory management, preferably in aviation
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, including purchasing and logistics
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience handling large data sets
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and unexpected challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Familiarity with aviation regulations related to material management
- Team player with a proactive, independent, and solution-oriented mindset
- Flexible to work weekends during peak maintenance and travel up to 30% annually
- Proficiency in ERP systems (AMOS) and advanced MS Office skills
- Fluent in English (verbal & written); Dutch and/or French is a plus
