Purpose of the position
The Ground Operations Agent works to deliver the “best in class customer service” on the ground, on a day-to-day basis, and this in a safe, secure and timely way.
The scope of the Ground Operations Agent’s tasks includes all customer service touch-points on the ground, including airport ticketing, lounge, passenger handling and ramp handling activities; services delivered by airport authorities, and follow-up of ground transport and accommodation of crews where required. He/she creates a welcoming atmosphere at all points of customer contact.
Your tasks
- The Ground Operations Agent is in charge of the supervision of the complete handling and station operations, including Passenger and Ramp Handling, Aircraft Cleaning and Catering activities during the turnaround (where applicable).
- He/she ensures that Security and Safety are guaranteed at all times as per company rules.
- He/she follows up on the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and quality targets on the ground, including punctuality and reliability targets; and takes corrective action in the field targets are not met - in order to guarantee a smooth handling of aircraft, passengers and baggage.
- He/she briefs and updates the relevant ground service providers in order to enable them to apply Brussels Airlines’ processes, procedures and product in the station.
- The Ground Operations Agent ensures the daily management of all Aviation Security responsibilities in the station: he/she knows and ensures his/her role in case of the activation of the Contingency Plan.
- The Ground Operations Agent follows-up, manages and maximizes the operational revenues, including but not limited to Airport Ticketing Office and Ancillary Revenues, following the targets as set in the yearly station budget.
Your profile
- Bachelor degree or equivalent through experience.
- Has at least 3 years of relevant airport operations experience.
- hHas an in depth know-how of all aspects of Ground Operations.
- Knowledge of the Amadeus Altea DCS suite is a plus.
- Is fluent in French (speak/read/write) and has a good working knowledge of English.
- Is used to working in multicultural environments and is able to learn/adapt quickly.
- Is a problem solver and shows flair for diplomacy.
- Has authority, is demanding and has a no-nonsense approach toward suppliers.
- Is cost conscious.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Is extremely customer focused.
