Job Title: Scholarship Regulatory Compliance in the Framework of the European Regulation on Eco-design for Sustainable Products (ESPR)
Location: Mazda Motor Logistics Europe, Willebroek Belgium
Duration: 6 months
About the Company: Mazda Logistics Europe is responsible for the logistics and supply chain management for Mazda's operations in Europe. Mazda Motor Logistics Europe is dedicated to sustainable practices and is actively involved in initiatives to combat deforestation and promote environmental conservation, particularly within the rubber automotive sector.
Job Description: We are seeking a passionate intern to assist in our deforestation mitigation efforts, specifically focusing on the rubber automotive sector. The intern will work closely with our environmental team to develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing deforestation and promoting sustainable land use.
Responsibilities:

Support our Product Compliance team in interpreting and implementing the GPSR (EU) 2023/988.

Map the obligations related to GPSR throughout Mazda’s supply chain, identifying consumer products within the regulation's scope.

Support the teams in developing online sales while ensuring compliance with the regulation's requirements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, logistics, sustainability, finance, and customs, will be essential to gather product safety data and assess regulatory impact.

Contribute to project management and communication with internal stakeholders, EU authorities, our parent company, and suppliers to ensure alignment and transparency.

Support the validation and deployment of compliance processes across the supply chain, ensuring readiness for audits and market surveillance
Requirements
- Student in Master degree environmental science, chemistry, material science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of deforestation issues and sustainable land use practices, particularly in the rubber automotive sector.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communities.
- Proficiency in office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- English is mandatory; Dutch or French is a must.
